Mekelle, Tigray — April 01, 2026
A launching workshop was held in Mekelle to officially inaugurate the project “Empowering Youth with Disabilities for Resilience and Inclusion in Tigray, Ethiopia.” The project will be implemented across the Tigray region to support conflict-affected youth with disabilities and strengthen their meaningful participation in the recovery and rehabilitation of the region.
The workshop brought together 25 participants, including representatives from local actors and civil society organizations (CSOs), youth groups, community leaders, Disabled Persons’ Organizations (DPOs), and relevant local government stakeholders. The primary objective of the workshop was to introduce the project’s vision, goals, and planned activities, while highlighting its role in promoting disability inclusion and building the resilience of conflict-affected youth with disabilities in Tigray.
During the workshop, participants were briefed on the project objectives, key activities, and expected outcomes. The session also clarified the roles of different stakeholders and encouraged collaboration among stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the project.
This initiative is made possible through the generous financial and technical support of the Youth Empowerment Fund (YEF) managed through the Global Youth Mobilization.
