Mekelle, Tigray — December 27, 2025
A launching workshop was held in Mekelle to inaugurate the project “Promoting Peace, Civic Engagement, and Human Rights through Strengthening Civic Actors in Tigray, Ethiopia.” The project will be implemented across all zones of the Tigray region.
The workshop brought together 35 participants representing local and emerging CSOs, journalists, media activists, youth groups, grassroots organizations, and relevant government institutions. The primary objective of the workshop was to introduce the project’s concept, goals, and planned activities, highlighting its role in promoting civic engagement, human rights, peacebuilding, and inclusive participation in Tigray.
During the workshop, participants were briefed on the project objectives, key activities, and expected outcomes. The session also clarified the roles of different stakeholders and encouraged collaboration among civic actors to ensure effective implementation of the project.
